Gold Status before flights taken??

Hi All,

I've searched the threads but haven't found anything that may assist. Maybe I searched on the wrong term???

I'm 10sc's off Silver and will be travelling from Sydney to Auckland this Thursday which will take me to Silver. Late June I have flights booked to the UK and Europe which will take me to Gold.

Has anyone experienced VA giving the status level before the flights are taken given that the level will be obtained during the travel period?? What are the chances and who would I ask??

If you were given the status before flights were taken you'd get a bigger status bonus which would be unfair?

However you could PM Velocity Rewards or Virgin Australia on here.

No, and generally not until a few days after the flight as well...given time it takes for points to post
An airline generally wont give points before the flight as people could otherwise cancel flights etc.

Thanks. Just confirming what I was thought was the case. I guess I was wishful thinking given I'm so close and travelling whilst the status is learnt.

There's always the chance that you wont Actually fly (for whatever reason), so its understandable if they stick to the wording of the agreements.

ok flights taken which should give me gold. cross fingers i don't have to wait weeks for the points to show so i can use on my trip back.
