Not personally but have known plenty who have. How many stories are there of people getting on a plane that they thought was going to Tullamarine and start cursing and swearing when they hop out of the plane door and the first see they see is the You Yangs ?
Honest question, having never flown to Avalon - why does it matter?
I haven’t been there for years but do they now have any other transportation options such as buses? At the moment, it's about 20-25 mins extra driving to central Melbourne from AVV compared to MEL and and extra $20-25 for the Uber. (I'm seeing $59 for MEL-CBD and $81 for AVV-CBD).

Skybus to Southern X and local bus to Lara Station to connect to V/Line trains.I haven’t been there for years but do they now have any other transportation options such as buses?
I live South of Mordialloc, so AVV is across the bay.Honest question, having never flown to Avalon - why does it matter?
I live South of Mordiallic, so AVV is across the bay.
Using public transport it takes me up to two hours to get to MEL with frequent services. AVV is problematic in that respect.

Funny you should post this, i watched it last night and had a little giggle to myself.Yep, documented here:
Can "rewrite" your tale @Scarlett as I'm over 70 and have travelled a tad more, can now 'fess up to....Many years ago I recall checking in at the desk for a JQ flight at MEL and the pair of, young Asian females, I guess tourists, at the adjacent counter were trying to check in for their JQ flight also. Except their flight left from AVV. The JQ staff member at check in was trying to explain to them that they were at the wrong airport.
Would have been a quicker trip in the mirage’s ex butterworth, in flight service was average though and don’t mention luggage space…Driver (ok dude we met) took us to Butterworth RAAF base - as we were Australian
