Global Wallet: Activate and Load for 1000 points

Having just done this, I can say IMHO it's not worth the hassle for 1,000pts...but by the time I realised I'd lost 15 minutes of my life and was committed...

Although, the POLi payment method is scarily effective...watching the internet banking screens automatically populate and transfer your money

What are the costs involved of loading money and then getting it back off??

Mrs 2905 and I both received the offer of 1000 points. I activated mine, and loaded $100 via Bpay, which appeared this morning. I might leave Mrs 2905's for now, and see if a better offer comes along, as others are doing (and besides, she doesn't know where she's put her card ).

I had to go out and about a little while ago, and for anyone not familiar with the Erindale shopping centre, there's an ATM from each of the Big 4, and a Woolworths, all within about 20 paces of each other.

I tried the NAB ATM first, naively thinking that due to the Cuscal connection, it might be fee-free. Nope; $2.50. The CommBank, ANZ and Westpac ATM's all wanted $2. So I queued up for a Woolies self-service checkout, and selected the banking option. No go; "Invalid Card", or something like that.

I then went off and did some other stuff, then dropped into Coles on the way home. I bought a low value item, with the intention of trying cash out; it took the $4.90 for the ice cream, but no cash out.

So rather than stuff around with a "funds redemption" (which is free, according to the PDS), I'll probably just spend the remaining $95.10 wherever Amex isn't accepted, but Visa is, to minimise the points earning loss.

But to get the 500 or 1000 pints, you have to spend, not unload, eh?

The T&C's only say that you have to load a minimum of AUD$100. I take to mean that you can do what you like after that, unlike some of the Qantas Cash offers, which also had a spend requirement.

And although 500 / 1000 pints might sound good to some people, I don't drink. ;)

Anyone ever get the 1000 points? I loaded it a month ago and still haven't got the points. Kind of wishing I hadn't now.

Reminded me to check. Not received the 1000 points or points for the dollars spent. Can't recall how long it is expected to take for points to post. Anyone?

My 1000 bonus points were credited yesterday, and the 50 points for spending the $100 were credited today.

Well my points failed to post. Called yesterday and spoke to Global Wallet, who palmed me off to VFF, who after investigating tried to palm me back to GW. Told her they weren't interested so she has escalated. Really shouldn't have been that difficult.

Mine says the 1000 points were credited on 17 October but I'm sure they weren't there until the end of October. The original loading was 3 September.

Received a call from VFF tonight. According to global wallet, I activated my card months before the offer therefore I'm not eligible. Failed to take into account that I had activated my Red card, but the offer allowed me to activate my new Gold card. I noticed I also got an email at the time of the call stating my VFF profile had been updated...how I'm not sure.
