I'm new at this but probably not alone, I lost this thread very early. What does LONE4, DONE4 and AONE4 mean ?

They are variations on OneWorld Explorer Around The World Tickets, and are discounted fares.

They are valid for travel on any combination of Oneworld airlines and are subject to various fare rules, and vary in price.

Basically if a fare is nONEx

Then n = class of service flown (A = 1st class, D = business class, L = economy class). And x = number of 'continents' visited (continents are specifically defined under OW rules and may vary a little from the geography you learned at school).

So a DONE4 is a business class Around The World ticket, visiting 4 'continents'. The fare will be the same regardless of how few or many miles you fly, with the exception of taxes and charges, which will vary (usually greater the more places you visit).

They are segment based fares, the number of miles flown is irrelevant as long long as you stick within other rules.

You can find out more about these in the 'stickies' here

- itinerary must be valid and be able to be checked at: jph.bytestacker.com/award.htm

Does this still work, or is it located somewhere else.

(FWIW I have been advised of a wedding I will be invited to in Vancouver, and after checking the prices of going there and back, I am looking some alternatives of just going around the globe - even if it costs more, the extra SC may be worth it!)

oz_mark,

Try MileageMonkey 0.95007, it's a sort of unofficial revived version of the site you're referring to.

Is this thread still continuing?

Those SC's for a DONE4 are pretty high by all accounts. What sort of time period would they be done in (eg, Serfty's and Kiwi Flyer's?)

It stopped over 2 years ago.

Some of the DONE4's mentioned were been specifically optimised to yield the highest possible SCs.

From memory Kiwi Flyer would complete a DONE4 in around 2 weeks. Serfty and a few other people would take up to a year from the first flight to complete the DONE4 by splitting the DONE4 into sections and coming back to Australia with either a paid ticket or award ticket and returning to recommence the DONE4 at a later time.
