Gin!

I did see the 1l bloody shiraz at duty free for $99, but left it as I thought that sounded like no special deal, even though it was 1 litre. what do others think, given it is sometimes a bit more difficult to get than your usual varieties.

Given its normally $85 for the 700ml I think thats decent. We saw the 1L a little cheaper in SIN.

I need to go to be NZ - it was $79 NZ over there for the 700ml and when everyone was sold out in Oz they had heaps of bottles

I was going to say that I thought I'd seen the 700ml for about AU$70, but I couldn't be certain. Seems there is quite a price variation on it.

NZ duty free is definitely a lot cheaper than OZ but then they tend to have less of the premium OZ gins (in general - there are exceptions). Good for the international brands though.

This was just in a regular store and not at duty free - I never saw it at the Duty Free stores in NZ because it is quite boutique

Mind you, that bottle of tonic looks like a poison bottle! What's it like?

If any of you are in Launceston this place was OK.
On Friday afternoons I learnt to seek peace here-

A whisky bar as the name Grumpy Piper might imply. Those of you with a good eye will note it is just across the road from the Quest. It is meant to have over 100 whiskys to taste but I was more interested in the 6 gins.Reasonably priced.

Early on a Friday afternoon I was usually the only customer.

Note that this was my third gin but the only bottle of tonic I used.I liked the Roku gin more than the others.
They also have some platters if there are a few of you.

And of course if you (like everyone) loves true blue QLDers, there's some music for you as an accompaniment ... I remember growing up to this track.
(Unfortunately Carol Lloyd passed away a couple of years back).

Not sure if it is a standard offer Boozebud have, but thought I would post anyway. (I have not used them to date.)

As well as $25 off and free delivery for first time buyers spending $100 they also have an additional 10% of Australian spirits on a 2 + bottle buy that stacks - there are a few Aussie Gins

Are there any must buys from their range?

I've wanted to try that 78o gin and that price is reasonable. Pity they didn't stock it's stable mate, the Green Ant gin, which I really enjoy.

Has anyone tried the Four Pillars sherry gin?

It's all very subjective because people like different things

Southern Wild Distillery Dasher + Fisher Mountain Gin - I really like this one and it is a Tassie one but I don't think $90 is great value - I got it when someone posted about the Cellarmasters $100 off a couple of weeks ago.

N Gin Two - I tried this one the other day but it was too fragrant for my liking

Tanqueray Flor De Sevilla Gin - I like this - very orangey (of course)

Twenty Third Street DistillerySignature Gin - this one I also like

Happy drinking
