Title self explanatory! Any help appreciated - I'm thinking of booking award flights and have a Qantas voucher from an unsatisfactory experience to use up!

According to the T&C on the voucher, I'd say yes.

"Redeemable for one-way or return Qantas domestic or international flights departing Australia only, including fees, taxes and carrier charges. Cannot be used for multi-city bookings."

I do not think they can be used to pay for taxes and surcharges on award bookings.

Look here and more specifically the following point

Qantas Gift vouchers said:
Non-refundable and cannot be used for multi-city, Classic Award or Any Seat Award bookings or redeemed for cash or other goods or services such as additional baggage or seat selection.
