By paying the fee you get a guaranteed late checkout wheras even with Titanium status although you most probably will be granted a late checkout it’s not a given
True. Though it would be nice if they also acknowledged your status benefits.

If staying at an Antanara, it's worth using a luxury TA who can book into their Antanara Journeys VIP rates. DM me if interested in more info.
That's a kind offer, thanks, but we're already booked. I did look at a couple of luxury TAs but they didn't seem to have rates for regular Anantara rooms (only the top villas) so I'm guessing Anantara must be one of the more niche programs. Anyway, we got a rate I'm happy with, just hoping status might sweeten the deal.

Checking back in with our experience at Anantara Ubud.

Property: Anantara Ubud Resort
Status: Titanium
Room booked: Payangan Suite (which, despite the name, is not actually a suite)
Room upgraded/type: Yes - upgraded to Forest View Pool villa
Rate: A$560++ / night (Stay Longer Special rate w/ breakfast - for 3 adults, over Easter)
Early check in/late check out: Early check in not required. 3pm checkout requested; initially offered 12.30pm checkout (a whole 30mins extra) despite hotel seemingly not very busy; then granted 3pm when I enquired about late checkout being a Titanium benefit
Amenity: Yes - bowl of fresh fruit
Free breakfast: Yes
Recommend: Yes for a very serene and tranquil stay, with friendly staff, nice spa, good food. But not for everyone if you want to be close to lots of sites or like somewhere with a bit of a buzz - the atmosphere is soporific.

Property: Parkroyal Melbourne Airport
Status: Titanium
Room booked: Standard King, $289
Room upgraded/type: Yes, Spa Suite.
Early check in/late check out: Yes, late checkout offered up to 3pm but not required
Amenity: Plate of chocolates and bottle of wine
Free breakfast: Yes but underwhelming
Recommend: Absolutely. Despite a few flaws it’s still our go to at MEL

Another decent stay but got the best upgrade we have ever got from this property. Nice spa suite with great runway views. Very happy with the upgrade. Breakfast is probably the weakest point of this property as buffet selection isn’t huge and not great variety. Enough to fill me up though.
Construction works right out the front and you can hear some of the noise plus the main covered walkway is out of a ration so need to go down to rental car area and take lifts at either end back up to terminal level.
We will definitely be back
