Hi.

I'm trying to suss out a smart way to get my parents to Sao Paulo in March next year, from Perth. Obviously there's the straight forward 'direct' way, but I thought why not see if I can optimise the value for money.

They are going to SIN at the end of the year and I've already got them onto the SIN-PER-SIN gig so they still need a flight back to PER around Jan the 4th. This got me thinking about what I need:
1. They should go to South American (long segments at least) in business class- though they enjoy flights on tiger so they aren't the complaining type.
2. There's a 10% discount on Oneworld products.
3. Dad has QC life but no other status with any airline.
4. SIN-PER is going to either be another QF return flight in Y or part of the next trip.

My questions are: 1. Whether a Circle Pacific fare might be the perfect solution and if so what sort of routings would people look at?
2. Is there a cheaper way of getting to Sao Paulo from Perth with overwater segments in J
3. Would it be smarter getting a Y SIN-PER-SIN then to GRU from there?
4. Am I barking up the wrong tree or is there an even better alternative I haven't looked at yet, like departing somewhere else in Asia as it's simple to get anywhere from SIN.

Thanks guys!

Hi, not exactly sure what you meant by the "direct" way, but I imagine the route from PER to GRU that involves the least amount of time in planes and airports is via JNB on SAA. This does necessitate a stopover in JNB for a night, but if you stay in the Sandton part you should be fine (or you can extend and see some game parks). SAA J class also pretty good vis-a-vis QF. Downside for you might be that SAA is in Star alliance, but going on oneworld is going to involve changing planes in SYD and EZE or SCL. Not quite sure the advantage in going from SIN, you'd either have to go through somewhere in Europe or through JNB anyway.

Thanks.

I've looked a bit closer at the circle pacific and this looks like it might be the ideal way. I've got a preliminary routing so far

KUL-SIN-PER-SYD-SCL-GRU-MIA-LAX-NRT-XMN-HKG-SIN-KUL.

Is this a legitimate routing on the DCIRC29, and if so is there any way to optimise it further? Also, what would fees+taxes be on this and is is possible to book through AA/someone else to improve the cost?

As my parents will be in SIN will just required a positioning flight to KUL. Thinking of a quick Tiger/Jet* fare right now.

Thanks everyone,

Jon
