Hi All,

I have just started on my journey with travel hacking.
My wife and I have a goal to get to Costa Rica although I have checked with Qantas and Virgin and the closest they get is Mexico. How would we achieve this goal? Is there a way to transfer points to another FF program or any other strategy.

Thanks for your input,
Brian

Fly AA from Dallas and Miami to either Liberia or San Jose...easy and always have award seats available

Thanks for that Pyffii,
I found the thread that recommended the same thing,
Although how do do this with Qantas?
I contacted them and they said the closest they will get me is Mexico City?

fly to LAx or DFW and then connect on AA... from LAX fly to MIA and then to either Liberia ( LIR ) or San Jose (SJO ) or DFW direct to LIR/SJO only Sat/Sun or to MIA and then LIR or SJO...Not difficult...you can book those flights as classic awards online or use AA and book those flights seperately ...However cant understand why those sectors cant be added to your flight from OZ...Might need a TA

Another possibility for getting to Central America is on LAN via Santiago. But my first choice would be AA as above.

All good,
I spoke to another travel agent and she was really helpful and of course its possible,
The last travel agent said that I could not do it, but didnt clarify that it was because of the dates not the location, duh!
