First trip report, here goes!
Took advantage of DSC in March and booked Magnetic Island, heading there in the morning.
As we are 100km away from Tullamarine, we stay closer to the airport to avoid the traffic and inevitable prangs on the Monash.
Happy to report pleased with The Sebel Moonee Ponds and I have not forgotten or lost anything yet.

Our previous trips last year left us a bit gun shy as we both got crook, Covid overseas and Shingles in Queensland.
So before we head to Portugal in September, thought this would help us get " match fit".
All I can say at this point is, in a week I'm sure I won't remember where Mr Flyfrequently has hidden my car keys!

I am one who is all about the journey and happy to spend the day, travelling, lounging and earning DSC in reaching my destination (though not quite Mr Flyfrequently's idea of fun)
MEL-BNE-TSV then ferry to Magnetic Island.
Very chirpy staff for a busy Monday 8am. Security screeners, Lounge Angels and oversize baggage lady, all happy (went HLO apart from SO's guitar - trade-off for 2 hour layover in Brisbane.)
No need to report on QP, only that it became quieter after 8am in Melbourne.

New boarding zones were trialling for our flight with rows 15-30 boarding and alighting by the back stairs.
Still don't get why people line up, might take awhile for pax to appreciate/ understand Zone boarding.
We joined the end of the Priority line, no issue with overhead locker space.
Fantastic cabin crew, well looked after on both flights as were the other WP/SG in rows 4&5.
(Chocolates and note much appreciated especially by the BNE-TSV crew who still had another flight to go.)
We were at our destinations about 10 minutes late, no problem and made the 6pm MI ferry with some time to spare.

Have woken to a beautiful morning, clear blue skies though cool 14° to start and now a very pleasant 24°.
Rain and wind forecast for tonight.
Staying at Peppers Blue on Blue, pretty happy with it all so far.
This is more of a holiday than our September "trip" planned for Portugal ✈️ and that is 30 hours "journey" time that I will enjoy - hopefully!

As you know I would be Flyf, looking forward to your report :)
What can I say re Maggie?
Loving the peace and quiet here @bPeteb - apart from Ms (Surfer) Flyfrequently +SO not having their e-tickets for Indo last night and scrappy Wifi trying to sort it out😉 all good eventually!

We are in #1331 studio superior, near your digs I reckon!

Did the loop on #250 bus yesterday as it was cloudy and very windy.

Tomorrow sunny 26° and walking lots in readiness for Portugal ✈️

Very close!

Our week on Maggie went quickly.

One day of cloud and significant winds had us on the local bus exploring Arcadia, Horseshoe and Picnic Bays and enjoying a very blowy walk to the end of the jetty!

Found the island a good place to relax and read a book by the pool at Peppers, in very pleasant 24° sun.

On 2 evenings we dined downstairs at Boardwalk Restaurant, best beef cheeks I've had in awhile.

Not sure if we would go again but we achieved what we set out to do : no delays or missed connections, Mr Flyfrequently's guitar in one piece and first off carousel, plenty of Lounge time and DSC's landing in 36 hours.

Cabin crew were cheerful, professional and attentive (appreciative of chocs - and well deserved too)
We made it home from the airport in decent time for a Saturday evening, no roadworks or delays on the Monash and my car keys were just where I remembered he'd hidden them 🙂
Reckon we're "match fit" for Portugal next month ✈️
