Here is the story. I want to get my DONE5 ticket from NRT after having been on a cruise in and out of SIN. SO I figure fly to SIN (Dec 14) 90000 pts on BA F, no problem. Then on Dec 22 I need to get to NRT to pick up ticket. There the probs begin.

I cannot seem to make a booking online with JAL (is it just me?). SQ seems very expensive for a one way ticket (over $2000 AUD in Y) and Garuda are less than half the price but umm no, I used Expedia for that.

Any help for the gurus in the know would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Since discovered that I can get to HKG on 3K and then on CX to NRT for about $840AUD total, maybe this is the best I can do?

Have you looked at Malaysia Airlines?

Either a cheap ticket SIN-KUL, then KUL-NRT or straight through? (Straight through is around SG700 ($550 maybe?)

You can fly overnight if you want as well - so that could save a night's accom...

Just found out that I can get a ticket on CX from SIN- NRT via HKG for $664AUD. Seemed to be the best bet. But can get there on MH for $575 thanks Mal!

Does anyone know the hours that the AA desk is open in NRT?

Not sure on the AA opening hours; AA's arrivals and departures occur between 11:30 and 17:45 so that may be relevent. Can you not make your DONE5 into an eticketable itinerary and avoid having to visit the AA desk at all?

No it will have 20 segments.

You could reduce to 16 segments, have it e-ticketed. Then after flying the first 4 segments, add 4 more segments. This will cost you a re-issue fee, but may save some pain.

I would also recommend that which NM says; for $125, you can make your journey start much simpler and not have to call in at AA NRT at all. At a conveniant point in the itinerary , then just reissue

Thanks for all the helpful advice. I have decided to go the ticketed road. The plan was to go to Tokyo anyway. The chance to go on my first F flight (BA SYD SIN on points, and then MH to Tokyo for not a lot were the main considerations.

The decision now is whether to go AONE5 or DONE5, Since I have a significant number of flights USA/CANADA prob DONE5 is the way to go.

Any further advice and all past advice are greatly appreciated.
