Getting FFs when re-routed onto non-partner airlines

I was recently booked back from Austria to Sydney with Qantas on a mixture of QF and BA flights. They re-routed me onto various non partner airlines to get me home (even thru Finland when things got desperate). Qantas are now refusing to honour any FF points on non-partner legs even though I paid for Qantas tickets and was quite inconvenienced by the re-routing. I have written to them without success. Is there anything else worth trying?

I believe the key here is 'Who instigated the change :?:'

If it was QF I believe they should honour the FF points and SC's of the original routing. They have done so for me in the past.

If it was a voluntary rerouting, then I would expect nothing credited regardless

If you were involuntarily rerouted by Qantas, then in my experience, they will offer the points that would have been earned

If you were rerouted by BA, then you may well find that QF will not provide FF miles for the ineligable flights

BA recently (2 weeks ago) involuntarily re-routed me on an LH flight and all i put in the missing points request for the original routeing and explaining the situation, they sent me an email asking me for the booking slip and boarding pass (both of which i had, the booking slip shows its a BA re-route, i can copy if anybody needs to see) and then they credited the points and SC.

I have also had Finnair involuntarily re-route me on an SQ flight towards end of last year, again the boarding pass was provided to QF and they credited.

I keep getting confused with voluntary and involuntary reroute.

So I turn up to the airport to find that the AY flight BKK-HKG is delayed for 9 hours which would also delay the return AY flight HKG-BKK by 9 hours. I am given a choice of 4 carriers and I choose EK for BKK-HKG and CX for HKG-BKK.

Is this voluntary or involuntary reroute as in theory AY could have made me wait for the dealyed flight?

I was rerouted by AY and QF had no issue providing SCs and FF points for the original routing. All I had to do was send in original itinerary and boarding passes for rerouted flights.

Thanks to all who have responded. It's great to have advice from people who know the system. I wonder whether that was my problem. Because I don't fly often, Qantas probably thought they could get away with fobbing me off easily. If I flew more regularly and was a QC member they might have treated me better. Thanks again for your advice.
