Getting boarding pass for 2 separate flights

Hi All,
I have a trip planned next year, that are purchased on 2 separate tickets:
1.) PER-KUL return Flying Batik Air Econ
2.)KUL-DOH-CMN return flying MAS/Qatar Biz (Booked on Qatar)

I'm not planning to leave Air side as its only a 4 hour layover in KUL.

-If I leave PER-KUL, how abouts do I get the boarding pass in KUL for my DOH--CMN leg? I'm assuming this is done at the Transfer desk in KUL?
-Also I'm actually planning to only carry backpacks so dont have luggage for this trip. However in the even I did have luggage, How would I have told the people from Perth, that I want my luggage to end up in CMN?
-Will assume the the recommendation on the above will be the exact same for the return journey.

Great if you can provide some advice on the above, thanks all!

Do Batik and MH operate from the same terminal at KL? If not can you get from one to the other without clearing immigration/Customs?

Re any checked luggage - being separate tickets will mean slim chance of bags being tagged through to CMN unless there is an agreement between the airlines concerned. If no agreement you'll have to collect the bags and head to check in. With a 4 hour layover that is a bit tight.

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, same terminal i.e. KLIA1.

Understood about checked luggage and about agreement.

Still keen to hear from others what they have to say as well.

I remember this negative review by @Port Power of their PER-KUL flight on Batik/Malindo (connecting to KUL-IST on TK):

Well Batik have interline agrreements with both malaysiian and QR for baggage. But that only applies to single tickets.
So it depends on the agent who checks you in in Perth. Some will do it with separate tickets but most will probably refuse. So even if someone else did have success doing it it doesn't mean you will.

At least you have a 4 hour buffer. Batik/Malindo have an extremely bad reputation and as @AIRwin advised by quoting my previous post, anything could happen. My first flight with them years before worked perfectly, but that was on the same PNR.

If you check luggage, you will have to collect in KUL and then check in again for your Qatar flight. Definitely. If Batik is delayed, that will cause you anxiety. No worries if carry on only.
