Getting a buzz out of recording Takeoffs/Landings

This thread was talked about quite a bit in Sydney at the AFF meet. I'd just glanced over it before but found it quite funny to read now.

When I flew down on my 7X7 from Brisbane, the safety card said what could be used on board, what couldn't be used on board, and that cameras (still, not video) were fine to be used at any time.

Further, both on take-off and landing the woman sat next to me was flicking through the photos on her digital (still) camera and when the CSM walked past both times she paused, then kept on walking. Not a word was said.

I've taken a video before, departing ZQN, but didn't think it was very interesting so it's hiding in a folder somewhere.

On the flight out of Sydney this afternoon I found this rather interesting blurb on my safety card:

The arrival to Queenstown is amazing!

I've got to get over there...never been NZ!

I like checking out vid's from unusual aircraft or airports - variety is the spice of life I guess.

I too love the dodgy old school Kai Tak crosswind landings from HK - such a bummer that never got to experience it!

There are def some good Kai Tak's on YouTube!
