You can get neurologist to add in a MRA (MR angio) if the MRI does not show anything . But if no brain found then MRA is moot

I am very much hoping for nothing (well, nothing of clinical significance, I do hope they find a brain!). Mr Champagne Tastes did not appreciate me suggesting that a brain aneurysm wouldn't really be my problem anyway.

1800Medicare popped up with an alert last week that my pneumococcal vaccine ( pneumonia) was overdue, since 2024. Odd.

Asked my GP about it during a visit for another reason and he says yes there’s been a new vaccine out recently.

So in it went, free, courtesy of that nice Dr Chalmers.

That's interesting I didn't get the popup but saw my GP for annual check up so she suggested it - Covid one arm and pneumococcal in the other

Me either. And this is a first too! Used to be 70. And I wasn't that then. I think it's a Live vaccine so can't have it if so





Turns out it isn't live so it's ok to have. The rules changed July 1 when the vaccination changed. Maybe this is a WCMO because they changed the rules and now suddenly I'm the one at fault with such messages.

I'm curious about the messaging that if you've had a previous pneumococcal vaccine more than 12 months ago, you can (should?) get Capvaxive. I had one in 2024 and can't for the life of me recall if it was Pneumovax or Prevenar, but I would think that's still current. One of them at least is safe for immunocompromised patients though (whichever one I had). I was hoping to be clear there until 60+

Will confirm with the rheum next week, as well as confirming my suspicion that I'm off the hook for an RSV jab now that I've gone and boosted my immunity the hard way (do not recommend).

Mr Neill and I were at about the same time frame of non-Hodgkins treatment though i suspect his version might have been nastier than mine. I suspect we were also both receiving IVIG. I also suspect he was probably living a more strenuous lifestyle with running a winery, appearances etc etc. However I have not stopped coughing off and on since it was announced he developed pneumonia even though I doubt I was beforehand.

I asked the nurse about it at our GP's this week. She said that they only get a very limited supply and the July quota has been used up. She said to ask again at the beginning of August.
Not so much for me but for MrEllen10 with all his happenings over the last 4 months.

Just had a look at my Immunisation history and had Prevenar 13 followed by Pneumovax 23 late 2023.

Yes she mentioned it to us earlier in the month before they got their supplies. But then with everything else we for got about it.
We need to email her about a new chest x-ray referral, ECG etc before our follow up Sydney surgeon visit first week in August.

On another note MrEllen10 had to have a further minor op on his upper arm today, to take a wider margin, form the original cut, (which was put off due to the heart and other surgeries).
It was a BCC which was a Perineural invasion (PNI). Basically it gets in the nerves. So another 14 stitches in his body. Hopefully the results will be ok
