Glad to hear all went well - will take him a while to feel really better but every day is a new day.Thank you everyone for your kids words and thoughts.
Mr Ellen10 is still in ICU hopefully moved to a ward today.
He is progressing well still has drains, meds lines in at this stage. Yesterday he was sitting up for a while and even had a brief walk with a trolley with the physio.
Trying to do the deep breathing, coughs etc. But still in a fair bit of pains they changed his pain meds. He usually hesitates at taking Panadol at home, so I know he is feeling it.
The staff, particularly the nurses (he has his own nurse that sits at the end of his bed all day, checking, recording etc. Very kind and caring, mostly all Irish, (I love their accent)
As we don’t live in Sydney so I am staying in a studio apartment at Randwick, perfect location with a 5 minute walk to the hospital and public transport.
Thanks everyone x

Got covid and seniors flu vaccines together (well separate arms) yesterday as off on a cruise soon; no reactions. Current covid vaccine is apparently different/updated to last year's.I’m so fickle. I had the oldies flu shot last week. No reaction. Husband had both flu and Covid. Quite unwell. And felt like he did (and I ) in Hawaii.
So my research suggests based on sample size of two that 1. We had Covid in Hawaii and not flu and 2. There are side effects for him anyway to the Covid shot.
In the interests of scientific research I lined up just now at the pharmac_ for a Covid shot. I’d decided earlier I wasn’t going to have another but this had become an experiment.
Oh. We don’t do Covid shots on Wednesday. Right. That’s all I needed. No Covid shot for me.
When we likely got Covid in Hawaii we’d had both flu and Covid shots four months prior. And if it was Covid we got it bad. So jury out.
Not at the pharmac_ I went to as they do Flu everyday but Covid seems a bit random and not everyday.Got covid and seniors flu vaccines together (well separate arms) yesterday as off on a cruise soon; no reactions. Current covid vaccine is apparently different/updated to last year's.
I have also found that many pharmacies don’t do Covid every day. I think it’s because they still use multi dose vials and therefore want multiple booking in place. Not at the pharmac_ I went to as they do Flu everyday but Covid seems a bit random and not everyday.
They won't take bookings either so I don't know how that works for them. Random.I have also found that many pharmacies don’t do Covid every day. I think it’s because they still use multi dose vials and therefore want multiple booking in place.
Maybe just go to another pharmac_ for the Covid jab? Most here in Sydney seem to offer them and most seem to also have online bookings. They won't take bookings either so I don't know how that works for them. Random.
That's a bit poor. The chemist where we have had ours in the past only do so through bookings - no walk ins. They won't take bookings either so I don't know how that works for them. Random.
Yes. I asked about a booking for both last week and was told they don't do them anymore just walk ins. So today I walked in and no, not today. You gotta laugh don't ya!That's a bit poor. The chemist where we have had ours in the past only do so through bookings - no walk ins.
I am not convinced my cancer doesn't have something to do with the Covid vax I received in the years prior. It was so sudden and aggressive there had to be a trigger. No more covid vax for me.I’m so fickle. I had the oldies flu shot last week. No reaction. Husband had both flu and Covid. Quite unwell. And felt like he did (and I ) in Hawaii.

That’s interesting. All the pharmacies that I have used insist on a booking. They won't take bookings either so I don't know how that works for them. Random.
There are also studies that suggest COVID vax triggers better immune response to cancer treatments. YMMV.I am not convinced my cancer doesn't have something to do with the Covid vax I received in the years prior. It was so sudden and agressive there had to be a trigger. No more covid vax for me.
Confusing isn’t it.That’s interesting. All the pharmacies that I have used insist on a booking.
Everyone’s immune system is so different in the manner in which it responds. There are also studies that suggest COVID vax triggers better immune response to cancer treatments. YMMV.
My specialist certainly isn't against the idea.Confusing isn’t it.
