Yes, two - I had mine 2 months apart, March this year, and May.
Ditto here for the wife and I, taken 4 months apart, our local chemist only stocked one dose at a time. I guess the non PBS cost deterred demand; though that will change for the Targeted groups with the govt announcement.

Yes I forked out nearly $600 for the Shingrix because I've seen people with Shingles and it's not nice
MrP had shingles maybe 10 years ago, along his side. He went to the GP and he wouldn't give him the shot, whatever it is, as despite being within a day of symptoms, he said he was too young and healthy and would be ok without it. 🤬

The shingles shot would be ineffective but if presents within 24 hours he should have been prescribed an anti viral agent such as Valtrex because even in younger patients shingles can be very painful and the pain can last a very long time.

Yes, he wasn't expecting the shingles vaccination (I don't think we even knew about it then) but the antiviral treatment. He wasn't that young. Maybe 50? Dr was old. He thought that was young I guess.

The reason we had the shingles shots in the US a few years ago was because we could not get Shingrix shots in Australia at the time.We had family members get shingles with lasting nerve pain issues.
It took quite a while but this is a gteat move by the Australian health authorities.

Quite a few neighbours in the village have come down with some sort of viral infection after mosquito bites in past week. One of them lives across the road and was at my daughters birthday party last Sunday.

It's not dengue. I'm not sure if it's Zika or a different virus. We've been scared. I've got 100's of mosquito bites all over me in the past 2 weeks. My daughter has had some sizeable mosquito bites too.

I think it's Chikungunya virus.

Pretty much the only thing I am scared of is the mosquito. I am not scared of snakes, spiders, biting flies, mice and rats. They can all be nasty but a mosquito can carry life changing viruses.

What started as a sensation of an eyelash in my eye yesterday morning, resulted in almost eyelid closure by 1pm, gunk, blurred vision when i prised the eyelid open, fast call to the Opthamologist who got me in within the hour, seen first by the technician who tested and was able to tell me my left eye long distance vision had improved again in just two weeks but my right eye was, well, a problem. Then saw the ophthalmologist who looked somewhat aghast. By now I had a large red 'bruise' encircling my eye and beyond. She was more concerned about internal eyeball infection given the eye results , a rare post complication of cataract surgery, but it seemed a bit delayed. She gave me antibiotics, hoping it was bacterial conjunctivitis. To use them every two hours. Cold compress. MRP was on his way to Canberra for 2 nights which is quite a relief as I looked horrendous. 😂. I took a selfie and immediately deleted it. It did mean I could forget about dinner etc etc. If anything worsened I had to go straight to hospital. 😳. She took a swab which hurt like crazy. They had to turn off the lights for me as they were so bright. And in a throwback to Covid times, they had to wear rubber gloves and wash everything I'd been near after I'd left.

Managed to get script filled by closing time. I felt some relief and kept the regime. Even during the night. This morning eye is much clearer and not much gunk. Still red an swollen but cold compress and hope that keeps improving. 🙏

Then I remembered I had babysat granddaughter two weeks ago, who had conjunctivitis. She didn't have any symptoms by then. But it seems like a long gap.

Last of the elective now done “resection of excess tissue left axilla” aka removed excess skin leftover post mastectomy yesterday. Rather straightforward day surgery. Unfortunately a home time of 3.30pm became a long drawn out affair as pain meds from phoarmcy took more that 2.5 hours to be dispensed. Had to be wheeled down to make them process it after 2.5 hours. Almost lost it but managed to hold it together. Gave them a feedback in the Uber home.

I know I should be grateful it was all good and no complications so far as I am not the best when it comes to wound healing. Tend to have delayed hematoma or wound dehiscing. I blame it on the getting high meds of propofol n fentanyl n steroi_s they like to dose you with to manage side effects and nausea. Fingers crossed am lounging at home today after a brekkie at my fav local Japanese place

Had lots of procedures over the past few years and this always kept being pushed back. This time during my annual review I was not going to raise it until next year but surgeon said I know you keep talking about it. How about we just get it done this time. Me: ok….. 😮. it’s now done and dusted. Am looking forward now to my many ski trips shortly in the new year n Feb 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

It's simply weird the way discharges are so badly done in some hospitals, and usually revolves around the pharmac_. The cataract surgery hospital pharmac_ wasn't used but the Specialist had pre ordered all the scripts required and they were given to me in a bag the moment I went into recovery. The meds usually aren't a surprise so why can't all places be this proactive?
