The day I master the art of how to relax is the day I become a changed Flashback I dare say!
I know that feeling - hate the waking at 1 am with those awful thoughts and just can't get back to sleep. Going over things that happened years ago, Shouldn't be like this at my stage of life (or ever really). On top of everything else happening around me I just hate the stress.

the day I become a changed Flashback..

This needs to be planned for and executed..remaining alive is what counts

I could have rolled on and filled a few bank vaults as the economic stars magically aligned about the time I withdrew
Instead I set out to nail some personal goals and live a different life.
The phone had to be surgically removed from my ear and I suffered withdrawal symptoms as the herd rolled on without me.

It has not been perfect, great money harvesting opportunities have been missed.. but here I am
..a happy, financially secure septuagenarian… what's not to like...

Not having never ending commitments helps greatly.

I'll never forget 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 where I had two stints of ~8 months off work and was extremely relaxed.

For me it feels great waking up midday and playing computer games all day and night and sleeping late.

It's also great waking up without any commitments. No rushing to be anywhere. No rush to visit someone you don't want to visit.

Dad in hospital again yesterday. He's had a little blood in urine the past few days. Pathology confirmed some sort of infection and kept in hospital over night.

Not sure if there's some sort of misunderstanding but a different doctor said to dad you're not going anywhere. You have cancer.

You will need to get a straight answer to this so you know exactly what he has and what the prognosis is.

I've had some similar symptoms on and off however whenever I see the GP he said you need to produce a sample. Of course when I do, there's no blood... so the mind boggles as to what it could be.

My brother had similar - it was a small tumour in the bladder which they removed though I don’t think it was cancerous. They are monitoring it.

Is there any way things like that can be detected then if when you take a sample nothing shows? Perhaps the test would need to target/test for something else? Mrs Flashback is very concerned over it but as it only comes and goes for me I've not really given it much of a thought as the samples have come back negative for whatever they've been testing for.

So Flashback if no blood has shown up in the urine tests I am assuming that it is the colour of your urine is red.If so it can be something as simple as eating beetroot-this happens to me as I love beetroot. Also after running you can get haemoglobin in your urine which can turn it red but there are other causes that need to be excluded.
For example does this problem run in your family?
Here is a link that can help you find out more.

And if it is a tumour the blood is more likely to be there all the time.

That doctor is a dope. You might have cancer is not something you tell someone without any evidence.

Dad is ok but stuck in hospital as the care plan auto cancels if staying in hospital and now they need to redo the care plan. Red tape at its finest.

I have ordered a SoClean device in the US to eliminate bacteria in my cpap sleep machine. It uses ozone and I will need a step down transformer to run it in Australia as it currently is not power resettable.

Fingers crossed for me please.
I'm due to leave for a 28 day Arctic 'expedition' cruise in a month and, after a bout of diarrhea, I'm now being investigated for bowel cancer.
I'm waiting for a colonoscopy appointment and hoping I won't have to cancel my trip. My friends think I'm crazy worrying about my trip rather than my health (I am worried about that too!), but I'm sure some here will understand how I'm feeling.

SuePa fortunately most people who have bowel cancer symptoms do not have bowel cancer.Diarrhoea or abdominal pain are the least likely of the symptoms to be associated with bowel cancer.
However you are doing the right thing as a colonoscopy can diagnose many other bowel conditions.

A review here.

Is this why bowel cancer takes so long to diagnose? Are there some doctors who think the problem is something else to do with the stomach or bowel and don't look for bowel cancer until they've ruled everything else out.

My father died from bowel cancer, even though the doctors claimed they had removed all the cancer in one operation. It took months of bowel pain and stomach upsets before he was diagnosed with bowel cancer. If they'd checked earlier, my belief is that he would have had a higher chance of surviving.

Bowel cancer does not take long to diagnose - these days it’s very quick. Most symptoms relating to bowel is NOT bowel cancer. Anaemia Is a much more important sign as is change of bowel habit - though that one is not that good either.

Thats why they have the PooTest from age 50.

Edit : annoying spelling error
