General Medical issues thread

Do not do the hike tomorrow. You feel well because you've bounced. Your body will be depleted of salts and energy stores, so I would give it a miss. I'm also mildly concerned about Mrs Falshback - do you know what caused the gastro, and is it contagious?

Not sure as the analysis showed no parasite in the sample taken. Indeed, I don't disagree with any of that! At least my arms and legs don't feel really heavy now, so that's nice.

She sounds a wise person (can I say woman?) :)

You can indeed.

BTW, I noticed when I left earlier that right opposite was the British Embassy - so I guess it's one of the better hospitals in the city as embassy's tend to be in nicer areas.

$458 USD all up for my short stay.

of course you can it’s what she is, unless FB tells us she identifies differently! I am very much in favour of gender inclusive language when talking about offices (chairperson) or in general. But it would be a bit sad if we couldn’t call a man a man, or a woman a woman, or whatever the others types are - too many to list.

I was just making sure I didn't cause any offence. I had always assumed MrsFB was female but then doubt crept in in case it was a SSR. And given my propensity to open my mouth to change feet I though it best to be on the safe side. :)

Oh.. so a male partner be Mrs **.. how interesting this brave new world has become ….

Noooo idea what an SSR is so I'll just nod my head and say yes :)

Off for a little nap now, didn't get much sleep overnight.

I am totally with you. You don’t want to cause any offence but that can also complicate things and cause other types of unintended issues. I’m getting too old.

A friend of mine decided it would be good if she didn’t wash her hair for a month. I can’t remember the reason, but it sounded pretty silly to me. I didn’t see her until about week three and I couldn’t work out whether to tell her that she smelled a bit like a bag lady now. I decided not to because I knew it would be over soon.

I think it is hair washing that will be the worst :(

Not following Drs orders as well as I would have liked, only got 500ml of rehydrated liquids into me rather than the 2L requested... hopefully today will be better, although not feeling great!

She's a little unwell today, not quite as bad as I was but enough to not go on the sunrise hike. I'll be heading downstairs at 4.30am (so 30 minutes from now) to let them know she's not going.
