Here in Lonnie the police have set up road blocks on the Tamar highways and on Evandale road just past the airport. They say they will be there until the weekend and drivers asked why they are on the road.

They did that initially in the UK but then a lot of noise about it, police resources could be better spent elsewhere etc.

Hi all, these days am never sure where to post things.... and I know that we are all "sick" of the corona thing. But today was a sobering moment for me. I have just one brother, who lives in Colombia. They are all in "lockdown", but today I learnt that he has become quite ill. Struggling to breathe, etc. He is 52 years old.

He cannot get tested for Corona as there is a dearth of testing ability there (hence the low numbers officially reported from that country, as per so many others)

Colombia has amazing medical facilities - but unfortunately focused towards non-life-threatening stuff. They can do any plastic surgery you want, and are amongst the best in the world at such things as laser eye surgery. But simply keeping a sick person alive? That is not their forte.

My brother is locked in his apartment with his wife and their child. Colombia has introduced tele-medical practices, so some online direction is available. But the hospitals are essentially a no-go zone - not least because of the myriads of poor people that ply the streets and who are now desperate. Colombia has several million Venezuelans living in those streets - people who rely each day on such hand-to-mouth existences as begging or entertaining on street corners. They have no access to Colombia's social security system. They literally live off whatever motorists will give them at street corners. And clearly there are now almost no motorists, let alone those who want to lower their window and get "socially close" to a beggar.

My brother lives in a high-rise apartment building - as most do in Medellin. They are fortifying these buildings to prevent access by literally hungry marauders.

So it is now destroying my relative "enjoyment" of modern days where things are slowed......

The inability to get to loved ones in dire circumstances is a dreadful part of this thing. DIL cannot attend her grandmothers funeral in the UK. We met her at their wedding.

So sorry to read that.

For others reading this, if you have relatives living OS, and they can still try and make it home, you need no other illustration to convince them - it's time!

Though there are a few idiots inTassie.A fellow in Lonnie who is in mandatory quarantine left his hotel room on Sunday to get a takeaway and caught by police, warned and taken back to the hotel.
Tuesday night he did it again. This time charged, spent the night in a cell and to court Wednesday morning. The magistrate I applaud.Denied bail and remanded in custody until next week and appear in court the day after his mandatory quarantine finishes.Brilliant.Hopefully they extend his quarantine in his current abode.

SOMETHING IS FISHY!!🤔

Wuhan to Shanghai = 839km

Wuhan to Beijing = 1,152km

Wuhan to Milan = 15,000km

Wuhan to NY = 15,000km

The Coronavirus started in Wuhan yet there is no effect of Coronavirus in nearby Beijing or Shanghai but many deaths in Italy,

Iran, European countries and USA.

All business areas of China are now safe.

Something is fishy.

America is not just blaming China without a reason.

Even today, India is locked down but all the cities of China are open. China has also announced the opening of Wuhan from April 08.

Not a single leader in China has tested positive for the deadly Coronavirus.

Something is fishy.

The virus has ruined many economies around the world. Many have had to close their borders in an attempt to contain and control the spread of the Coronavirus. Thousands have lost their lives, millions have now got this disease, countless people have been locked in their homes and many countries have placed their citizens on lock down.

Something is fishy.

The Coronavirus originated from the city of Wuhan in China and has now reached every corner of the world, but the virus did not reach China's capital Beijing and China's Economic Capital Shanghai, located in close proximity to Wuhan itself.

Something is fishy.

Today Paris is closed, New York is closed, Berlin is closed, Delhi is closed, Mumbai is closed, Tokyo is closed, the world's major economic and political centers are closed, but Beijing and Shanghai are open. No Coronavirus effect is seen in either cities. There were only a few cases but the virus had no real effect on Beijing and Shanghai.

Something is fishy.

Beijing is the city where all the leaders of China live, including their military leaders. There is no lock down in Beijing.

Something is fishy.

Shanghai is the city that runs China's economy. It is the economic capital of China, where all the rich people of China live and run major industries.

There is no lock down here, there is no effect of the Coronavirus there.

Something is fishy.

Beijing and Shanghai are the areas adjoining Wuhan. The virus from Wuhan reached every corner of the world, but the virus did not affect Beijing and Shanghai.

Something is fishy.

Another big thing is, that the worldwide share market has fallen by almost half. In India also the Nifty has gone from 12 thousand to 7 thousand, but the share market of China was at 3000 and just merely dropped to 2700.

Something is fishy.

This leaves one to speculate that the Coronavirus is a bio-chemical weapon of China, which China used to carry out destruction in the world in

order to gain economic supremacy. China has now put this virus under control, maybe they also have the antidote/ vaccine that they are not

sharing with the world ever or will do when it is in their best interest to do so.

Something is fishy.

Hollywood stars, Australia's Home Minister, Britain's Prime Minister and Health Minister, Spain's Prime Minister's wife, Canada's Prime Minister's wife,

and Britain's Prince Charles, among others, have contracted the Coronavirus, but NOT A SINGLE POLITICAL LEADER IN CHINA, NOT A SINGLE

MILITARY COMMANDER in China have tested positive for Coronavirus.

SOMETHING IS FISHY!!!!

The USA has now gone past Spain in number of deaths due to CV 19.

Italy 17,699
USA 14,797
Spain 14,792
France 10,869
UK 7,097
Deaths in the USA likely much higher. New York has only been counting confirmed cases

New Zealand numbers.

Interesting - more than QLD, although QLD has a larger population and has conducted ~ 20,000 more tests. Makes you wonder if NZ's total shut down is worth it.

There's always a few idiots. It'd be nice if they focused on these and didn't try to create fool proof laws!
This particular idiot absconded from his hotel room to get a take-away. Why did he need to do this? How did he get out of the hotel?
Personally, I'm very uncomfortable about the whole hotel detention thing. It seems to me that we are effectively imprisoning people for crossing a State boundary. It's not risk assessed as to where they have been, or who they have been in contact with. It's not based on a COVID-19 test, or even an elevated temperature. It's purely based on entering the State after a specific date. Bang, fourteen days detention. I can see someone rebelling against this.
