Garuda - Check My Trip

G'day,

My wife and I are heading to Bali from SYD via Jakarta in October. I have been trying to locate the flight on Check My Trip but aren't having any luck!

Do Garuda flights appear on the website?

Does anyone have any experience with the Business Lounge in either Denpasar or Jakarta airports?

Any help and direction would be appreciated.

Apparently the new Garuda Executive Class is half decent these days. Fingers crossed!

Garuda does not use the Amadeus booking system so you will not be able to look it up on CMT. They may have a similar function available on their website?

Flew Garuda Executive Class from Sydney to Denpasar in March on the old seats which are fine on the way there - hard to sleep in on the way back so hopefully you get to use the 180 degree flatbeds they are using on their new A330's- you can use viewtrip dot com from Travelport to see your itinery

The Prada Lounge is the better of the ones you can use - Dewi Lounge was dirty, old, busy and hardly any food there when we left.

I'd fly Garuda any day - smoothest landings that I've ever had - will compare them to Malaysian soon tho

Was on Garuda FLight from Perth to Jakarta and back again. The Garuda Lounge is very good. The airplane was the 737-800. Business seats are OK and service is good.

I guess they've improved a lot in the last 10 years or so. Back then the usual phrase among expats in Jakarta was "if the plane doesn't kill you the chicken will."

I flew Garuda once, however the flight was booked stupidly through a travel agent before i knew about the ban they had from flying into Europe and America and the numerous numbers of incidents. However, the level of service was fine and had no complaints of the flight itself.

I wouldn't fly garuda again, purely because of their history, and the fact that if i wanted to go to bali or jakarta, it can be done by using MH, DJ, QF or JQ.

I'm sure you are aware that there is a lot more to an airline than just landings.

I will stick to the recommendations of my employer and Garuda is definitely on their no fly list.
