Hi, thank you all for your help so far.

I have now joined Krisflyer, but obviously I need to have a points balance to see if there are any available flights at the times I want.

I am loathe to transfer my points from Amex and then find I can't use them, so is there any way I can see if there are any flights available before doing so?

Thanks in anticipation.

Have never looked for flights with a 0 point balance but SQ definitely lets me ascertain availability of flights I have nowhere near enough points to book.

I think you can search for flight availability even if you have 0 points. Just click on redeem miles and work through the booking process. You should come to an availability screen ... but wont be able to go any further.

Otherwise if that doesnt work, give us a yell and we'll try to look at dates and availability for you.

Hi John and Alan,

Just joined SG. Should be an interesting learning curve.

Hello Lauri,
As a guide we have always been able to set flights on points with SQ.
If you are ok on Standard points rather than only Saver you will be ok provided you are flexible on your departure point from Australia.
Our last 5 months travel for family members is in Frequent Flyer Fiend and the Game which may help you.

Should be very simple. I am not the quickest learner, even though I work in IT, but found SQ website to very easy to navigate for both paid flights and award bookings. Realistically that is the only time I use the SQ website as most of my flying is on QF.

I saw where you said times rather than dates.
We dont like 1.00 am nor 3 am flights so sometimes we go J rather than First to avoid cough times.
