Changes to your Emirates Skywards Gold Membership

The Emirates Skywards Gold Membership benefit will be decommissioned from the Centurion Card®, effective 30 July 2024.
Centurion Members who are Emirates Skywards Gold members as of 29 July 2024 will continue to have access to this benefit for one year from their enrollment date or last renewal date.

Already enrolled through American Express?
  • If your Gold Membership is due for renewal by Emirates on or before 29 July 2024, your Membership tier will automatically be renewed for 12 months from your renewal date. After the 12 month period, you will only be able to retain your Membership tier provided that you meet Emirates’ qualifying criteria, details of which can be found at emirates.com/au/english/skywards/membership-tiers.

  • If your Gold Membership is due for renewal by Emirates on or after 30 July 2024, you will only be able to retain your Membership tier provided you meet Emirates’ qualifying criteria, details of which can be found at emirates.com/au/english/skywards/membership-tiers.

Not enrolled through American Express?
  • If you enrol on or before 15 July 2024 at americanexpress.com.au/benefitenrol, you will have access to Emirates Skywards Gold Membership for a period of 12 months.
  • After the 12 month period, you will only be able to retain your Membership tier provided that you meet Emirates’ qualifying criteria, details of which can be found at emirates.com/au/english/skywards/membership-tiers.
  • If you do not wish to enrol, no action is required.
This change does not impact American Express’ existing Membership Rewards® partnership or International Airline Program airfares with Emirates.

I wonder what exactly the value proposition is. The RM is a nice person and all but can’t do much outside of book travel.

I didn’t use this benefit and I’m assuming not enough people did so it’s gone. Some other benefits would be nice to differentiate Centurion from Platinum - there’s a fair AF premium now for it purely being a status symbol and the marginal extra points earn.

The urban legends aren’t even remotely true. No strings of any sort can be pulled with it - even things that aren’t as outrageous as some of the stories out there.

YMMV
