Further QF Sales for J to USA in 2013?

I've just been asked to get to the USA in December and looking at fares with QF at the moment the pricing is way too high for J, especially with Delta and AirNZ so much cheaper. I know I missed the sale a few weeks ago, anyone think there will be another sale in the next few weeks/month? I don't want to leave it too long either, or I'll end up in whY! I really want the points and SC's. I'm considering PE, but being such a long flight, and the minor price difference, I might have to bite the bullet and fly a different airline.

Thoughts?

Consider a Y to ASIA and then to the USA on CX in J, doing it this way you can miss LA.

Cheers Limewood. I went via Asia last year, but the boss isn't loving my random flight routing's to save money when I'm then out of the office more... It's fine for him to do it though!

There is always FJ via NAN, ex NAN is $2000 return in AUD

Nice !
Brand new J in their A330 as well
First look: inside Air Pacific's new

If you try to price it ex-MEL its like $7k+ but could always fly to NAD in Y on QF for like $1k so $3k all up. Pretty good deal I reckon.
However it seems that MEL-NAD on any airline has like two stop-overs on the way up whether its VA or QF...

Just priced QF to HNL in Y (day flight on the way back) and instant upgrade from HNL-IND (via DFW) and then IND-HNL (VIA DFW & LAX) for less than $5K. The AA flights will yield 630 SC's plus points... PE on QF, is over $4500! Now to get it approved...

I found that booking CX out of HKG was much more expensive than booking CX to US via HKG out of Australia - nearly double in one case. I asked my friendly TA, who confirmed it was not unusual.

Not many sale fares in December or January come up.

November you might get lucky.
