Probably reflects the loads on SYD-OOL some days of the week, plus also the target (holiday) audience will book months and months in advance (which these fares often are) or can fill empty seats at short notice closer to departure date.

Another $9 sale last Friday, 18 October.

I booked a SYD-OOL $9 fare, to match up with a OOL-SYD ticket I already had for mid-February.

Hard to beat at an all-up cost of $17.50.
