On November 30th Milepoint has a FTU meeting at the Sheraton Gateway on West Century in Los Angeles.
Can anyone make that date and give us an update.
I miss that date by about 2 weeks .
Randy Petersen will be there so it should be an eye opener for any travel fiend.

I attended FTU near EWR (Sheraton Meadowlands) earlier this year. For most of us, it's pointless (pardon the pun). It's aimed squarely at US people (It's mainly how to extract maximum value from US Credit Card programs). It's also squarely aimed at US FF programs as a rule (although Avios makes an appearance due to BA's marketing of it within the US and exceptionally good value redemption for short haul US fares on AA).

The only good parts were catching up with Randy, Garry, Tommy etc. Always good to see friends, but the program itself wasn't of any real benefit to me. It's primarily for beginners wanting to learn the ins and outs (and there's plenty of good info for them).

Watch out for the dumpster divers who are chasing caps off drink bottles to earn frequent flyer points in the US.

I read about that on Milepoint and using self analysis I realized I was not as crazy as other frequent flyer point gatherers in America.

After reading The Points Guy thread for quite a while now and seeing what is available to people in the US, (like at the moment a pre paid card from a place similar to Officeworks earns a stack of points if you pay bills on it)....makes me want to enter the green card lottery to live in the US to chase points. So many more options!
Would be interesting to attend, but everything very US centric just from reading a lot of the popular blogs

Our mail in the US included offers for Delta,AA and US Air affiliated credit cards for both of us so I am thinking that the credit battle we experienced is now well and truly over. I may ask some US based suppliers for a deal on paying invoices on Visa/ MC
to turbocharge points earning in America.
