I tried the survey, which asked the industries you or members of your household work in and how many email addresses you check each week. I got told "Thank you very much for taking the time to participate in this survey. Qantas Frequent Flyer conducts many different projects with specific research objectives in mind and while this particular initiative is not a fit at this time, we do hope you'll consider participating again in future requests.

Thank you again for your consideration." however my survey link still works so I may try a few different combos to see what answers they actually want. I assume if you answered these two questions "right" they would ask you to provide your FF details to actually know who you are.

Just FYI the survey will go on if you answer "None of the above" to the first question about industries. There is a lot more than two questions after that, it ends by saying it will be an advisory community of around 500 members and if I am successful to become a part of the community I will be contacted in the next few weeks.

Received and have responded. They'll no doubt be looking through the respondents and whittling them down so they represent 'a broad church' of their flyers; from number of flights, location, other carrier status levels (DJ membership level was a specific question), and the like.

While you could do this, I would strongly encourage you not to do so - no matter how great the offer of points if you are chosen to participate.

Lots of research in these areas have shown that having a person as either an immediate family member, housemate or similar in such industries can unduly influence the outcome of data and results.

Granted for those on AFF, we would have a good finger on the pulse and feed in accordingly if selected for the panel - but it would be best providing honest answers to give the airline the best chance of finding out what's happening on the ground through this channel.
