Just received this via email today.

When you rent any eligible car in Australia before 18 December 2015 for three consecutive days or more, you'll get a free upgrade - and you'll earn double Qantas Points. That's six points for every AU$1 you spend on time and kilometre charges*.

Coupon number UPPA039 must be quoted at time of booking or rental. Offer valid in Australia for bookings made online at qantas.com and completed between 24 August and 18 December 2015. Double points means that 6 points per AU$1 will be earned instead of the standard 3 points per AU$1 spent on time and kilometre charges (excluding GST, insurance and miscellaneous charges) on selected car rentals for 3 days or more. Upgrades are valid for a single car group upgrade, from a Group C to Group D, Group D to Group E, Group E to Group P, Group P to Group H. Upgrade subject to vehicle availability at time of rental. This combined double points and free upgrade offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, coupon or promotion. Upgrade subject to availability and to the Avis Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions or Budget Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions (as applicable) at the time of rental. Avis or Budget age, credit and driver requirements apply. Qantas Points are not awarded on package tour, government, travel industry and some corporate rates. For further details, please contact Avis on 136 333 or Budget on 1300 362 848.

I got this driving to work - I glanced down at my phone for a second to see an email from Qantas frequent flyer and the first line was "Free upgrade and double Qantas" I was excited until I saw the second line on the next glance "points on car hire" :(

I went to make a booking this morning...when booking through the QF site there are no cars available, went to the AVIS site using the same dates and I have every car available

Yes, my "Free upgrade and double Q....." turned out to be a real downer. :(

Edit: An offer that I will make sure that I don't take up

Planning on hiring a car via Avis for 4 days in September and would have gone via QFF anyway so this is freebie.
