Moving sale! And by sale I mean take it all for free as soon as possible :) More stuff may be added soon.

If you would like an item send a PM and we can work out postage, or free pickup/delivery around Sydney if convenient. Alternatively check the lounge meetups thread to see if we are at an airport at the same time!

*Q Bag Tags - Preference will go to highly active members for sets. If very popular I'll give them away individually so more members get something. Don't bother asking if you just want to scalp them on eBay.

*All amenity kits are empty - contents already donated. All pyjamas are a mix of M/L sizes.

Very nice meeting up with you to collect goodies, really enjoyed the chat, good luck with changing the next generation.

Thanks to all who helped me in my moving sale…everything now gone pending a few postage bags.

Very fortunate to meet most people (even if very briefly) who were receiving an item either locally or at an airport. Shared some great stories and met a whole bunch of interesting, educated and friendly AFF’s. Looking forward to having more items to share soon!

Cheers

Tom

Hi Tom,
I noticed some Royal Jordanian stuff. Can you tell me what they are like to fly with? Also do they fly direct Oz or will I need to switch carrier?
As it is OT perhaps a PM would be best.

Unfortunately RJ does not operate to Australia... Try BKK or KUL?
I am canvassing different routes to SYD-AMS possibly via DOH or/and AMM. The carrier in-out of OZ would likely be EK or Qatar.
Any feedback on Royal Jordanian and Qatar appreciated.
Apologies for OT.

I've had the opportunity to fly with them a couple of times with mixed experiences, seemingly depending on where you are flying and who is crewing the flight.

I've tried short J and Y class flights from Jordan such as AMM-CAI and it seems unless you are friends with the skymarshall, speak the crews language or are a regular frequent flyer on that route/region and therefore know the cabin crew, you'll get polite, yet disinterested service at best and at worse just be ignored. Frequent Flyer Status meant nothing as a oneworld emerald.

On the other hand with their longer flights such as AMM-BKK and fifth freedom flights such as BKK-KUL I've walked on the plane and been greeted by name and had excellent attentive service throughout the flight. Admittedly even on these flights the crewing was not balanced. Great service from the stewardesses who were from the Asian region, while the male cabin crew were middle eastern men who sat in the galley and did nothing except eat and talk amongst themselves. It seemed like they thought they were paying customers.

I remember one time (HKG-BKK) I was travelling with two friends who had just got married, and the crew brought out champagne for all of us. When disembarking the stewardess tried to give us all express path cards, only to have a male crew member take them all off us again and berate her, was quite a disturbing experience.

All in all depends on personal preference and who you get on the day like any airline. Although, I've never had a bad experience on Qatar and would take them over EK.

Thanks for relating your experience Tom. Will give them a miss and look instead at Qatar.

In terms of airline experience I'd rate QR and EK as very sameish (if that's a word)…I just prefer QR more personally.
