I recently travelled ecomomy from Melb. to LA on an Airbus A380. The seating was good and the TV screen was better than the 747. Food was fair but the wine was atrocious. Australia makes good wines and that should be our flagship. Qantas needs to source another vineyard. Those wines are far too young and rugged and you can buy better and cheaper in the local wine shop.
On the return LA to Sydney. that american prepared food was lower than pub food with the same lousy wine. American chocolate is never up to our aussie standard and Qantas should always supply good Aussie wines with good Aussie chocolate on Qantas flights. Qantas can skip the maintenance so long as a man's last meal and wine was good stuff before you hit the deck. Imagine going down on a lousy meal.
We used to say how good the 747 was but the run back. packed like sardines in tight seats, lousy food and wine was not the best flight I ever made.

What's the point on joining up to epiqure to get the taste of the nice stuff when onboard it's a different story... :D:D

Come on Qantas, take a good hard look... But I guess that's why they call it economy bloomedoon...!

Try J next time, sure you will be happier with the selection ...

How does the wine in whY compare to other airlines?

I also wouldn't rate Aussie chocolate that highly...
