I wonder what sort of demand there would be for such a service - it's not really a long distance between Newcastle and Port Macquarie?

Perhaps it's for aircraft positioning.

Pelican are also doing Port to Canberra. The Newcastle flight seems odd especially during these times. There had been a a travel mob offering road transfers down to Newcastle but not sure if that is still happening. Haven't heard any reference to the aircraft repositioning

Inaugural flight FP1012 has departed NTL on its way to PQQ...

Inaugural flight FP1012 has departed NTL on its way to PQQ...

And a quick flight time of just 30 minutes!

Looks like the aircraft is flying a NTL-PQQ-CBR-PQQ-NTL rotation today, so perhaps the main reason for the flight is to position the plane to operate PQQ-CBR after all? I don't see any other good reason to have such a niche route that only operates once every Thursday!
