Hope I'm in the right place to ask this question. I'm sure I read or heard somewhere that you can use Velocity points on these airlines less SC. Does anyone recall this??.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Something similiar rings a bell with me but I haven't heard about Velocity points. I tried to find the email that confirmed that but I had no luck. However follow this link and you will find more info...

Redeem KrisFlyer miles for Scoot vouchers | FlyScoot.com!

Perhaps the fact that you can convert your Velocity points to Krisflyer miles and then use them to redeem Scoot Vouchers... The link should answer your question.

Yes, this sounds familiar, many thanks. Reason I asked as you can fly J Scoot from OOL and Tiger from Singapore to Maldives. Would be nice to do it on points.

Redemptions are only available on bookings where travel commences from Australia. Subject to regulatory approvals, Tigerair Australia will begin flying to Bali from 23 March 2016.

This is VA's way of calming us, when VA stops flying its own plane from ADL - DPS, etc so those who want to, can fly ADL - DPS using VR points, but not gain any from flying those routes on revenue fares!

Nice... we had our honeymoon in the Maldives over 30 years ago (May 1985). We stayed for 2 weeks on an island called Kanifinolhu. Now days it is a Club Med with overwater bungalows etc. Back in 1985 it was a bit rough around the edges, (excuse the pun) but still to this day one of the best holdays I have had.

I'll give them a call on Monday, but does anybody know what the required points are for MEL->DPS. Given that the cash price of the Tiger flight is $200 less than the previous Virgin
price, is there a corresponding drop in points?
Also do you still have to pay Tiger's daft checked baggage surcharge?
