I am QFF Platinum (Oneworld Emerald) and have to fly Malaysian later in the year. I have booked in O, which does not accumulate status credits or ff points with Qantas. I had a similar experience flying Economy with Cathay earlier this year.

Is there a way that I can collect the points with my BA account, whilst also getting the perks of being Oneworld Emerald? Thanks.

Brilliant - thank you.

Of note, I recently flew CDG - HKG with Cathay in discount economy (S). I didn't realise at the time but flights in S don't earn Qantas status points.

I used my QFF number to enter the lounge and get fast track, which is essential at CDG, but subsequently logged into my BA account and claimed the flight. The points were credited this morning. So maybe it is possible with some airlines even retrospectively?

Team,
Sorry for reopening an old thread BUT.
Even in the qantas calculator, discount economy in CX earns status credits.

I have this issue with a "S" class discount economy fare with a CX flight number. See below
Any advice?

Cheers,

I put in a claim for a Qantas booked CX flight in Y from HKG to DEL last year and it got knocked back just last month... Seemed strange that QF would book a flight in a grade that could not earn points and credits. That said, I did spend a pleasant couple of hours in a deserted CX lounge drinking nice beer and eating noodles.

You can't necessarily trust the calculator. You have to look at which fare classes align with which category. In the case of Cathay Pacific, there are no fare classes that actually fall into the "discount economy" category and S class is not listed as an eligible category to earn points/status credits.

Looks like a fault in the calculator displaying this. You have to dig into the T&C.
But using EK as a carrier, the calculator works.
Maybe the calculator has been **ENHANCED**
