Hi all,

I have recently got my SG, I fly JQ quite often (friday night) via T2 Sydney.
I understand that I am eligible to access QF Lounge at T3, but does anyone really do that?
Since it is fair a bit of walk from T3 to T2 or vice-versa, what is your experience at QF Lounge? Is it worth the walk?

Cheers,

that is ENTIRELY dependent on how much time you have, if you have only got 10 minutes or so then no, but if it is closer to an hour or more then yeah it probably is.

I do find the T2 experience not bad without a lounge, it's got a good lot of food outlets and great views of the apron from the food court.

Having to go through 2 lots of domestic security can be a pain in the bum.
Fridays, esp if its school holidays, or leading up to it, or a long weekend, ouch, does my head in, even just thinking about the security procedures.
Worst still, if you get picked for a domestic bomb residue test. They hate puffa jackets, I can tell you that much.
Line, line up, place all worldly goods onto the blue tray, 1 time, go through to get to T3 for the QP, come out, and go through onto the T2 departures zone... but I guess, to each their own, if you can bear it, go ahead.
1 lot of domestic security procedures at an Australian airport is enough for me, each time I travel.

Is it worth the walk, for some who have paid the $855 once off joining fee and annual fee, it has to be made to be worth it.
I have used the Sydney domestic QP, not bad, but since nowadays, you or anyone can bring kids in, its dropped its standards a bit, but hey, you get to drink ciders, and eat canapes, and do all that jazz, mmm, maybe after my 10th visit to a QP place, I might get sick of it, but right now, for me, its still a novelty factor, being able to waltz into a QP place, and just show the card and go in.
While most of the punters have to spend their time on the outside.
OP, go ahead and give the Sydney QP a visit, or two, and then make a decision.

Remember there is a security screening for entry into T2 on the ground (arrivals) level, at the far end, after baggage reclaim - for quicker access to the Jetstar pier.

Personally I will not fly JQ out of SYD T2 since the QP closed, all of my flying that would have been done with JQ, has now transferred to VA, which does have a lounge in T2, and a superb roadside entry directly into their lounge.

I think the walk is definitely worth it assuming you have enough time.
