flying ex melb to palmerston nth nz .. customs?

flying ex melbourne to palmerston nth nz via wellington.. do you need to collect luggage in
wellington and go through customs ? or does luggage go straight through to Palmerston
north? flying qantas ex melb to wellington and nz flight ex wellington to palmerston nth..
and if flying back to melbourne from Palmerstong nth via Auckland.. does luggage go
straight through to melbourne?

You will need to collect your luggage in WLG and clear customs/immigration there before checking in for your Palmerston Nth flight.

If you are travelling Air NZ you should be able to check luggage through to MEL.
