My wife gets fat feet and has tried many different compression socks to no avail - so my #1 worst is any compression socks.

My fav is still on the foot theme being some timberland laceless scuffs I have, easy on / off and being navy suede leather look good as well

I hate compression stockings too...actually find they make it worse and not better.

Nothing worse than an uncomfortable pair of jocks that give you a wedge during a flight

I avoid women's clothing wherever possible, never been a fan of the girdle.

TonyHancock, what you get forced to do when you lose a wager or a drinking game is none of our business :p :D

Well - you know what your mother said. Always wear clean underwear... in case you get hit by a bus. And wear comfy underwear... in case you need to fly

Best clothes to wear on board? Sleeper suits! Well, particularly if you're in First class anyway.

Worst clothes would be whatever you're still wearing at least 24 hours later due to a status run, and you haven't had any time in between to get to a lounge, shower and change. :p

Best - yoga pants, but only on the plane, unless a dork in AA F spills red wine all over my chinos, DFW-LAX leg of ATL-DFW-LAX-SYD-BNE trip. Or if TheWinchester is on the plane, then I know he'd be greatly offended by the yoga pants.

Worst - the aforementioned red wine chinos?? Might be a fight with poo-explosion jeans (thanks to Little Miss 18mths & turbulence) on the BNE-SIN leg of a trip to LHR.

So what is the best and worst clothes to wear? And why?

Don't wear a singlet then get assigned the seat next to me in Economy from LA to Mel then fall asleep TOUCHING ME WITH YOUR BARE ARM stranger I don't know :(

Tony as I have come to expect from you, sound and prudent advice.

This of course is particularly relevant in the near future when flying with the new alliance.

Travel Advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for the United Arab Emirates.

“Local Laws and Customs - Offensive Behaviour

Swearing or making rude gestures is considered an obscene act and offenders can be prosecuted. Offenders have, in the past, received six-month jail sentences for such acts, and some have been deported. You should exercise particular caution when dealing with the police and other officials.

Cross-dressing is illegal.”

Back on topic,

Best = Comfy Jeans, light and well fitting short sleeve shirt and comfy shoes. I have done the shorts and thongs thing before, and whilst it was comfy I did feel a little under dressed.

Worst = Suit, they are IMHO about the worst thing to fly in. There is the tie which is ready to make it's way into breakfast / dinner at the drop of a hat, they are long sleeved so when the air con is not turned right up on boarding you get really hot, and of course when you arrive at your destination, they never look quite as good as they did when you first got onto the plane. There have been a few times where I have worn civvies flying down to MEL, and got changed on arrival, and vice verse before leaving.

scottevest has jackets with 20 pockets and more , good when you're stuck on some cheap fare . I've used it to carry all my electronic gizmos (tablet, phones, camera, chargers) for a short trip to NZ with no check in luggage on an AirNZ seat only fare, nearly saved me the cost of the jacket doing this. The jackets are pricey but good value when on 40-50% sales that occur occasionally.

ME SOON

Am hoping for an orange reflector tie to accompany - I hope the reflector surface does not screw up the shape of the full windsor :roll eyes:
