I thought it will be a good idea to do a TR of my journey to visit family and friends in Europe.
The flights were booked with USDM and I will show different *A airlines and F/J cabins.
It's not a sightseeing trip, it's more taking the long way for a short family visit so I will mostly report about airports, planes and lounges.
I will have a short 12 hours layover in Paris and a few days stopover in Athens.
I apologise in advance for any grammar and spelling mistakes (English is not my first language). I will try to upload many photos to make the TR more interesting.
My route is:
SYD-BKK TG F
BKK-CDG TG F
CDG-ATH A3 J
ATH- TLV A3 J
TLV - IST TK J
IST - FRA TK J
FRA-BKK TG F
BKK-SYD TG F

First leg SYD-BKK departing 10am:
Check in was a breeze, no queue at Royal Silk desk. I was given my boarding passes and directed to NZ Koru lounge. I asked if I can use SQ F lounge instead and they said no problem.
I was impressed with the F lounge, it's small but feels very classy.

They staff were attentive and being the only guest there most of the time, I received a 'personalised' service. They have a chef who cooks to order and I had a delicious extra spicy omelette :)

Later I had a long chat with the manager about various lounges (he worked for EK before moving to SQ), a topic that will put most of my friends to sleep :)
By the time I left at 9.30am there was just another couple inside, a bit surprising considering the SQ A380 departing 11.15am.

I don't think the attachment links are working in the first post. The Thai 747 photo is good though.

Strange you can see only one. I'm using my iPhone to upload everything.
Probably another bug in the system. There are many problems with uploading photos recently.

Boarding was easy, PB worked well.
A bit disappointed to get the old F cabin on the B747 but it's a day flight and I will be on the A380 for my coming night flight to CDG so no big deal.

The cabin was 2/3 full and as soon as I took my seat in 1A I was offered a glass of DOM 2004.

First serve:
Caviar perfectly matched with a shot of Russian vodka.

Duck Liver Terrine with Grilled Scallops.

I pre-ordered the Lobster Thermidor online, mostly because I never had lobster on a plane.

It wasn't the best I ever had but it was good enough and I love seafood so will probably order it one more time on my return leg.
For dessert I tried the cheese selection with a glass of port.

The cheese was average to say the least.
The CSM saw I barely touched it and offered me a chocolate mousse cake which was nice.

Second serve:
Hot Sichuan style Soup was nice and spicy, just the way I like it.

Chicken and lamb Samosa was not bad.

Chocolate tart was ok, just too sweet for me.

Look forward to the next episode.

Brings back memories of my TG F experience courtesy of USDM. While other airlines like OZ, NH may have the extra special touch, F is F!!!

I am making notes on what to order, and the choco mousse dessert looks yummy, was it?

When landing in BKK I was escorted to the TG F lounge and I was booked for 1 hour massage in the beautiful Royal Orchid Spa.

After that I returned to the lounge, which was pretty empty at that time so I scored a private room to relax there until the next flight.

There is also a bar and dining room in the lounge but I just ordered food and drinks to the room.

Second leg BKK-CDG departing 12am.
Boarding was fast and easy and although J was full, we were only 3 pax in F. I guess TG are not so generous with upgrades. The CSM told me it's very rare to have F so empty.
The seats on the A380 are fantastic, so different then the old B747.

Plenty of storage space near the seat.
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1401829741.177246.jpg
The toilet is very spacious and fitted with a changing area.

The communal sitting area was a bit gloomy.
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1401829940.183952.jpg
They made sure to separate F from the rest of the pax by using curtains and ropes.

The express pass for CDG was given before departure.
