Another "Long way round" itinerary, via IST here!

Found a great TK J fare that beat the competitors' Y fares, and added only a little in terms of travel time. A happy accident. May be more of them for us all. :)
And here! A couple of visits actually - looking forward to it.

Once landed in FRA I was greeted by a TG representative who said he will escort me through security check to the lounge. It was a nice surprise, I wasn't expecting that.
I asked the guy if we are going to the LH lounge and he said that AC recently opened a brand new lounge which is better and less crowded. He offered me to check this one first and if I don't like it then he will take me to LH Senator lounge. I agreed.
The Maple Leaf lounge was indeed very nice and not crowded at all.

Check out the bathrooms on the lower Level, JessicaTam.
You can't afford to rush in. It's mirror upon mirror upon mirror, which can lead to some amusing double takes.
Éven double height mirrored walls in the cubicles, which seems just a tiny bit over the top? :)

Looks like Game of Thrones inspired setting.

The bathroom was very clean and I love rain shower so I had to use it :)

Later I relaxed and watched a live soccer game in the World Cup.

What impressed me the most was the service. I forgot to buy Melatonin to prevent jet lag and I asked if there is a pharmac_ in the terminal. The answer was no. There is one outside, which I couldn't access. The lady In charge of the AC lounge called the pharmac_ and organised delivery at no extra charge. 15 minutes later someone arrived with the medicine.

Wow! That really IS impressive service. Would that it would catch on in some other places we could think of? :)

View from the AC lounge. This is the plane who will take me to BKK soon.

After the game finished I still had an hour until boarding so I decided to check the Senator lounge downstairs.

I was there a couple of years ago, so I am keen to see how it has changed. I have to say, I was a little disappointed with the bathrooms last time.

Now we need a bathroom thread! :)

I agree that the upper level (entry level) bathrooms are rather tired and obviously heavily trafficked.
The lower level - on my very quick visit - appeared pristine. Occupied only by several cleaning staff, happily chatting amongst themselves. But those mirrors......

The TG rep was supposed to pick me up from the AC lounge when it's time for boarding but as I moved to the Senator lounge which was located just opposite my gate, I went there by myself.
Priority F & J boarding worked well. It's Germany after all, everything here works well ;)

Seventh leg FRA-BKK departing 8pm on A340-600.
Old style First Class, not very spacious cabin.

I got very lucky with no one seating next to me in the middle seats.

The menu.

Wine list. Don't understand the choice of reds: 1 blend of Merlot and 2 Pinos. No Shiraz, no Cab Sav, strange.
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1403055252.335461.jpg
At least the champagne is good.

Started with DOM 2004 and some canapés.

First course was Caviar. Same as on previous flights, no need to show photo again.
Second course crab meat, prawns & salmon.
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1403063884.818871.jpg
For main I pre-ordered the Cream Lobster with cream. It was a small serve but very good.
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1403063898.411505.jpg
Some cheese and Port to finish the meal.
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1403063923.629147.jpg
This apricot cake was delicious but I was already full and had only a bite.

Time to sleep, I was very tired after waking up at 5am and being in transit all day.
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1403064184.119296.jpg
The bed was ok. I like to sleep on my tummy and it took me a while to find a comfortable position. The bed on TG A380 is much more comfortable.

Breakfast started with fruits and yogurt.
ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1403098391.887982.jpg
I chose the ham, mushroom and cheese crepe. I wish I could say it tasted better then it looked but it didn't.
