A few stuff ups from Fly Dubai. First not doing any security checks on the co pilot. Sacked from Oman Air for being radicalised online.
Second putting an Omani as pilot on a flight to Israel. Oman pilots are on Israel’s list banning them from flying to Israel.
Of course this means a failure on Israel’s part not picking up that an Omani was a pilot on this flight to Israel.

Apparently pilots flying into Israel are required to have passports from countries with diplomatic relations with Israel.

Oman does dot have Diplomatic relations with Israel

So I presume he also has a passport from elsewhere, easily obtained legally, even an EU one eg via Portugal golden visa pathway.
Adding: and trail of how he got one would very interesting

How did the rogue pilot get a pocketknife on board in the first place?

Is there ordinarily some tools in the coughpit that could have been used as a weapon perhaps?

The UAE attorney general now says the Flight deck Crash axe was used instead of a knife
Airbus have them as well
