FlyBuys - Explore Gold offer

Received this offer in November and left it to last day to accept to provide best scheduling. Did family pooling and only needed one flight myself as flight was the day before before status credit changes kicked in -received 60SCs on one itinerary with husband (ex Perth) and he earned me another 20SCs just before qualifying period expired. Enjoyed gold benefits on my flight and am now gold for another 11 months. Doubtful I will be able to retain gold but good while it lasts! Velocity has achieved its purpose with me as I now consider Virgin when previously I rarely went past Qantas.......

Just found my membership level has turned to Explore Gold too, with 8 June as the review date. Strangely my status credits have dropped from 59 (all earned through shopping at Coles) to 39, and the "Maintain Explore Gold" section showed 0 for "Status Credits earned since 08 June 2016", lol. So I guess for the 80 SCs required by the review date, only the SCs earned from flying (rather than shopping) are calculated, right? Anyway, there should be no problem hitting the target, and I'm considering a business class return between SYD-MEL now.
I got the offer a couple of months back and my shopping SC certainly counted towards the 80 required.

That's good to hear, thanks a lot! I've booked a SYD-CNS return flight (with a stopover in BNE) for my short trip in May, which will earn me enough SCs to meet the Explore Gold requirement. So glad that you rest me assured that my shopping SCs to be earned in coming months can count towards the 400 required during the new membership year. Maintaining Velocity Gold will be a goal for me, as I cherish the membership, especially when in light of Virgin's Asia strategy and its potential cooperation with HNA, including mutual membership recognition.

Just realised I missed this offer, got filtered out! How annoying, looked like a great opertunity.

Once I hit Qantas LTG I'm going to see if Virgin will do some kind of status matching. As a QFF Plat I'm hoping for at least a Gold match.

This Flybuys offer what have been great and easy to make qualifying flights in the 3 months

Got mine yesterday too.

Does anyone know if you hit the 80 SC mark and get a full year of Gold whether we'll be able to access the partner benefits, specifically Hilton Honors? I'll be clocking up 10 or so nights at Hilton properties in Hawaii next Feb so this would be handy :)

Yes, although if you've been Gold before and used the benefit (like me) and re-obtain Gold though this offer, it says you've already utilised the benefit.

I got the Explore Gold pack today, even though tonight I have flown another VA flight to net me the required 80SCs. I did it in just 2 weeks, all short sector Y, 2 Elevate and 2 Freedom tickets.

So I should expect another VA Gold pack shortly.

Did the explore gold pack come with luggage tags? If it did you will probably just get a new card not a membership package.

I recently qualified for gold after satisfying the 'Explore Gold' requirements. Today I received my 'gold' pack comprising new gold card and 2 luggage tags along with booklet outlining benefits. All good!

I'm assuming there is no way to trigger the offer which has probably expired anyway? I'm a Silver Velocity Member and have been for a couple of years but never quite crack into Gold. Im traveling in May which would have met the requirement to keep Gold had I received the offer... Maybe next time I guess.
