I cannot explain how I ended up searching an itinerary on Flybuys Travel but the AA itinerary I found in the results was actually price competitive. So i started looking at things a bit deeper. I was surprised to see that the booking terms appeared as follows:
Please note that the most restrictive set of rules below applies to your entire itinerary. We have not received information regarding the rules or restrictions for this flight. When you purchase your ticket, you agree to the following rules and restrictions. Please assume that the fare is non - refundable and any change or cancellation will result in full forfeiture of the value of the ticket with no refund or credit available.Rules and restrictions as imposed by the airline(s) will be applicable to your fare should you need to change or cancel your flight(s).Airline tickets are non - transferable. Some flights do not qualify for frequent flyer mileage accrual.
Well it is obvious they are taking the worst of all the rules but surely it contravenes the Aust Consumer Law in that I am actually entitled to a refund if the airline doesn't perform, similar to the way Jetstar was fined Jetstar to pay $1.95 million for false or misleading claims on refunds
I also know that with USA bookings, there is a cancellation window for 24 hours after the booking is made.
Just seems that FT are being lazy and misleading. Can't really trust to make a booking that way.
