Fly Buys Changes coming....

Well hang on a sec, that's not entirely true. You still accrue FlyBuys points at the normal (coughpy) rate, right?

Well, yes, but I was comparing it to the comment that a minimum spend of $1000 is required. In many cases, that's not even true as you could spend much more in total and still not get any rewards from this due to the separate minimum spend of $30 per transaction to get an accrual. Any transactions less than $30 don't count towards the minimum $1,000 spend. How's that for a gotcha!

The existing flybuys. points apply in either case.

And in further news of flybuys. collapse, I passed through OfficeWorks today to see a big sign up stating that they will no longer give flybuys. points from the end of this month.

There's barely anyone left in the sinking ship. Wesfarmers have done a poor job, leaving it to flounder further.

That's assuming Wesfarmers didn't want to get rid of it.

To my mind, sounds like, it could be a case of Flybuys being tarred with the old "Coles Myer" management. It probably has never been 'owned' by the new management. While the Coles crew have tried to leverage it - seems that others in the Coles group want it gone.

Now, what would an a start up company do with a database like that?

Harris Technology is also leaving Fly Buys at the end of this month

In 2.5 years, I have accumulated 1000 Flybuy pts, which I have just redeemed for an $80 gift card (actually 4x$20 cards)....so that's $32 /year!!

An $80 gift card for only 1,000 Flybuys points? Should that read 10,000 Flybuys points?
