Iam just starting to plan a holiday to America in September 1915. Flying to New York then driving down to Maimi taking a cruise then flying to Hawaii for a few days then back to Sydney in a time frame of around fourty days. Ihave read other members experiences when using points and flying different routes but iam still unsure what to do. i would appreciate any advice fellow members can give me. I only have 123000 qantas points. I have read the knowledge centre pages and wondered if it was too late to purchase points from someone like Alaskan to use on Qantas ?.

Good idea, it's best to avoid Europe with WWI going on! ;)

Do you have status with QFF? Do you mind flying FJ via NAN? Do you want to fly J or Y?

You could always join American Airline AAdvantage program and purchase points and hope you can redeem them for flights next year. Of course Sept 2015 will be busy because it is school holidays.

Thanks everyone for those answers. Dont have any status credits. Dont mind going F J if its going to work better. Cannot remember what J&Y mean.Ialso have a small amount of points with Singapore & Korean. I may have made the mistake of not sticking with one airline when i have flown to Europe & Usa.Does anyone have any more ideas.
