Is there a way to make use of QFF points to fly to Kathmandu leaving before Christmas and returning after New Year?
My son has 200 000 points and limited cash.

Malaysian fly to Kathmandu (I have booked on MH for this Dec on points direct with them before they put their points costs up)....so check what a redemption on them booked via Qantas costs.
BUT booked via QFF fuel fines and charges will still need to be paid.

There's also CX/KA via HKG. Fuel fines should be lower than via KUL, nut need more points. (Assuming ex-PER, points are 70K in economy, 130K in business return on MH or 84K/156K on CX). Of course you can go out on one carrier, and back on the other, at that time of year availablity is probably the limiting factor.
