Flights from Brisbane to Sri lanka

I am new to the points thing so I need some major help here.

I have 105,000 AMEX Membership Reward Points (from Explorer) and my fiance has about the same.

We want to go to Sri Lanka for our honeymoon leaving between 25 June 2018 - 28 June 2018 business class with our points.

SQ is waitlist only as is Cathay. Thai takes 5 business days to transfer and the points need to be in the account to book so not a great option as it is a huge gamble that the seats will still be there.

Does anyone have any other options?

I think I have found an alternative. Waitlist the flight out of Brisbane and then book flights out of Melbourne. Worst case scenario if we dont get flights out of Brisbane, we fly to Melbourne and fly out of there. If we do get flights we just pay the US$30 fee for cancellation!
