Flight SQ228 Dumped Fuel over my house. Staying with my Cousin in Bulleen VIC and a low flying Singapore Airlines flight dumped fuel ...you could smell it.
 
Departed an hour ago, is returning to MEL as we speak

Dumping fuel over water is not preferred traffic wise nor environmentally, aircraft was at 12000 so most would have evaporated.

Fair enough ... but as far as environment is concerned, if most of it evaporates, then the sea won't be impacted (very much) and if it doesn't, I'd rather have it fall on some fish than, say, a school.

It’s the Vapor zone that’s the problem, over the sea in Melbourne affects tassie arrivals and most of Rwy 34 traffic in MEL, where SQ went not so much. This is what MATS says on the subject:
