Hi all,

Has anyone had a go at Flight Experience @ Darling Harbour, or elsewhere? It's meant to be my birthday present so just wanted to check it's worth the 300 odd dollars. Speaking of which, what would be better, the hour for $275 or the New Flyer Membership for $335?

Thanks.

I've done a 90 minute session at the MEL one. A few notes on my experience...

* It's a fixed Sim so no moving (I assume you already knew this).
* My session had some 'technical problems' and the radio to the control tower and ground wasn't working, so we skipped all of that which was a little disappointing
* 60 minutes is enough to do LAX-LAS with taxi/takeoff/cruise/land/taxi.
* The additional 30 minutes was spent doing circuits of Kai Tak and low altitude flyovers of HKG which was pretty cool.

Overall i'd rate it a 6.5/10. Being a bit of an Aviation nut (not just a frequent flyer nut) I was pretty interested in all the formalities and takeoff checklists and what not, which obviously most people wouldn't be. If the radio comms had been working, i'd have rated it a 7.

I'd say go for it. It's the most affordable way of getting close to a real sim :)
