Flight 001 Store

I just spotted a new store I hadn't seen before in Surry Hills, Sydney.

It's called Flight 001, website is www.flight001.com.au

Has luggage, travel accessories, wallets etc - a little different/retro.

Definitely don't have any affiliation with this store - just thought it might be of interest.

Apologies if its already been posted.

The shop is a little price-y but they stock a variety of things that could make pretty nice Xmas presents, esp. to those who enjoy to travel.

Walked past last week. Definitely eye-catching. Seems to be getting a bit of press too. Good on 'em.

Some of the products they sell can be googled and bought cheaper online (in Aust) but nevertheless I hope they do well.

I saw the grid it things listed in the travel section of the weekend Australian. They seem rather good of sorting all those odds and ends.

Not sure I really get these. They save space and weight, by adding the space and weight taken up by the actual space paks? The video implies that by having two sides, space is somehow saved ("compression"), but without being one of those vacuum-type packs, I can't see how that's possible?

I can see how it helps with organisation, but that's about it. Pretty pricey for a bit of organisation (which is never something I've had a problem with when packing anyway...).

Just my $0.02. Happy to be shown the light.

Fair enough. I can see the organisational benefit. I do something similar anyway, just with different bags that I've collected over the years. I do like an organised suitcase.

Well i went shopping today and picked up the set of the spacepaks:

With the discount they came in at aout $130 for the three.

Now I travel with one of the Antler roller bags - the smaller one, so the clothing pack fits inside of the bag itself, just. however i can stack the show bag on top and the toiletry bag next to it.

They had one of the clothing bags on display that had a stack of t-shirts and some jeans.

Don't think of the paks as vaccuum style ones, the just compress clothing more efficiently than packing them loosly. You also need to pack them correctly.

Give me a few trips with them but I think I will like them, simply as it is nice and organised. you also pack the dirty clothes in there too - just on the other side. so they stay separate. Also if you ever have to open your bags up, everything is still conceled.

There was a heaps of other goodies in store too. I bought some of the "just add water" towels. They are in a pack like Life Savers...
