I'm wondering whether anyone has experience with small changes to Cathay flights months out from flying, and being able to use that to change flights completely? I have a flight from South East Asia back to Australia, which has changed by around 10 minutes (as has the flight from Hong Kong to Australia). Cathay have better timed flights for me which weren't available when I originally booked, which would see me home quicker, but currently cost significantly more.
Before I call Cathay, I wanted to check if anyone's had success in changing to more expensive flights for free, after a small reschedule / time change? My experience with Qantas is they are generous in their change policy, and asking a contact centre member to speak with their supervisor has yielded the approval to make any change I've been after in the past.
