At approximately 0845 hours Fiji time, a Fiji Airways B737-700 flight from Auckland to Suva had an air turn back after the right hand engine experienced a problem during take-off. As a safety and precautionary measure, the aircraft, carrying 122 passengers and 6 crew returned to Auckland without incident.
Emergency services in Auckland were on standby for the landing, as per standard procedures. The aircraft will now undergo extensive inspections by Engineering staff to ensure that the aircraft can be safely released back into service.
All passengers will now be re-accommodated on subsequent services from Auckland.
